Hrr...I'm always afraid to advertise because I don't want to sound arrogant without having anything to back it up with. Myerr. I'm not all that great at advertising, either.
Unless you tell people that Lexcore is the best comic in the world, I'm not sure how you would come across as arrogant. Besides, you DO have something to back it up - a smashing comic. ;3
But if you really don't want to, here's a or two tip: Your banner is nice, but it's generally a good idea to put some of your better art in banners. People are attracted by pretty things, after all. Just a bit of text, though it may be neat, won't do as much.
Most people, especially on SJ, are prone to checking out the profiles of people who comment on their work, so turning yourself into a comment whore will work, too.
And then of course there is offering a freebie for whatever every now and again. Like, for so many votes on buzzcomicx you'll do an extra page or something. It tends to be relatively effective. People love freebies, in any case.
